Reclaimed wood is wood that has already served some purpose. It includes wood that is initially used for packaging, industrial purposes or even as floorboards. Instead of discarding the wood (once it has served its purpose) it is upcycled and reused in the construction of furniture and other objects such as these beautiful Headboards. This practice not only saves consumers money – but is also environmentally friendly.
We decided to take huge bags of beautiful leftover fabric to seamstresses that work from home and we asked them to assemble a standard size panel for us. In one go, we created some jobs and an original, one of a kind patchwork panel that we reconstruct into Headboard combinations with our reclaimed wood. We recycled, reconstructed, redeployed and re-employed. And it felt great!
